Might do well to look back at some of what Hillary Clinton faced in her run for the office in '08. She got attacked from the left, right, media and all in-between. Was painted as racist beginning in S Carolina, labeled a thief, murderess, Lady McBeth, lesbian, and more. People said the "Clinton Circus" wasn't wanted back in town. Bill was quoted as saying he had never seen a candidate treated so disrespectfully for running. I don't think anywhere though she is cited as complaining there was a "war on women" - even though there was obviously a strong bias against this "woman". She lost, but with almost 18 million votes. But just look where they are today.

Take responsibility for your own mistakes/wrong ideas - "That's not who we are."

The Dems are fond of the term "Folks" and sprinkle it throughout their speeches. Eastwood truly spoke to Americans, and elevated himself to a higher status than he already was, now Eastwood is a true American Folk Hero!

Great article! Just adding, Eastwood rode into Americas' homes, stated the obvious to many in a clever and entertaining way. Poked some fun, something no one of his status has prior done, and then he rode out. Eastwood stayed true to his character, but went against his celebrity type. He did his part, and did it his way. Agree with all you said and happy to see your article. Eastwood solidified with his true fans why we like him - for his talent and for his being real. It is sad to see so many conservatives try to shy away from his defense. The part that people say was disrespectful, seems to ring false. After all he only was pretending the pres might say that to Romney. Maybe I missed it but I don't recall the same outrage when Biden actually did whisper to the Pres "this is a big "effing" deal" on national tv. Politicians will be politicians no matter their party and most celebrities are going to disappoint their fans off the screen. But to hear people say "Clint was just being Clint" that goes in the good things list.
