Is America Ensnared in an Endless War?

It's funny to hear bugwits like Hannity whine about Obama's claim to be able to kill US citizens with impunity. If Romney had won and done this Hannity and the rest of the modern day Ivy Lees would be defending him, no doubt under cover of the phony "unitary executive" BS. If cretins like Sean want to be angry at someone they should go take a good hard look in the mirror. It was they who more than anyone else laid the ground work for this with their infatuation with the GWOT.

To call Hannity a "bugwit" is an insult to the insect world...

You are absolutely right that he and his ilk would have no problem with this if there was a GOP president. Most of these people on TH wouldn't have a problem with it either. Just like the Democrats were only anti-war when GWB was in charge.

What about his nuts?
"When the president does it, that means that it is not illegal."

So said Richard Nixon in his interviews with David Frost. Nixon was talking about wiretaps and surreptitious entries to protect lives and safeguard national security in a violent and anarchic war decade.

The Nixon haters pronounced themselves morally sickened.

Fast forward to our new century. For, since 9/11, we have heard rather more extravagant claims by American presidents.

Under George W. Bush, it was presidential authority to waterboard, torture, rendition and hold enemy aliens in indefinite detention at Guantanamo.

Under Barack Obama, we don't have a Nixon "enemies list"...
