Unions Furious: Michigan to Become Right-to-Work State Today

Right to work states have the highest poverty levels. Without unions wages are depressed for everyone. Unions can be a problem, but they also advocate for fair awes and benefits. Without unions we will have Walmart wages and benefits everywhere.

The problem with your statement is that it's not true. The fact is that unions have gone from being a useful check on business owners to being parasites leaching off the bodies of their members. There are many instances where unions have cost the jobs of the workers they were supposed to represent. For instance, Hostess went under precisely because unions sucked the life out the company and 18,000 employee's lost their jobs as a result. The Union strike against Southern California markets against having to pay a 5 buck co-pay on their medical insurance cost thousands of workers their jobs because the Unions traded the 5 buck co-pay for those jobs. Unions in a word are killing what's left of our economy.

Pure nonsense taken from a union organizer's handbook.

Ask the workers at Hostess how the union helped them....oh that's right there is no more Hostess, instead of an 8% cut, the union got them a 100% cut....good work unions!!

That is extreme. Tell us how unions work and that they never do any harm. Please explain that in detail. Do you think you are talking to people that do not know first hand what unions do?

You are totally wrong.

Unions have put cities, towns and states broke with their thug strong arm bargaining with the WIMPS who call themselves Leaders. Hence we have pension funds that only an idiot could have thought would last and now you and your unions are disuniting the country.

Tell me why the Union 'Men" and "Women" always curse filthily and use threats when people oppose them?

"Without unions we will have Walmart wages and benefits everywhere."

Yet people continue to apply to work at Walmart. I wonder why? Maybe because people realize that they don't need unions and their nonsense?

Aw, come on. You just made that up, right? Right to work states have the fastest growth rates, lowest unemployment rates, on average and, by the way, the healthiest auto sectors. You are wrong.

Sounds like you reading straight out of the union rules book, what a fool.

What is wrong with giving workers a choice of whether or not they want to join a union?

The vote to turn Michigan into a right-to-work state will take place today after days of protests in Lansing about the pro-worker legislation that prevents having to pay dues to a union. Not surprisingly, local police are bracing for possible violence today as more protests are planned.

Even with the outcome considered a foregone conclusion, the heated battle over right-to-work legislation in the traditional union bastion of Michigan shows no sign of cooling.

Authorities in Lansing were bracing for an onslaught of demonstrators Tuesday at the Michigan Capitol as the Legislature reconvenes for...
