I'm sure if agenda-free Arthur C, Brooks said it it has to be true.

You obviously know very little about churches...I cannot speak for all but we give to missions, families, organizations that help families in need, food banks, etc. Another annoying thing, speak of what you know nothing about.

"a local fundamentalist church may spend the bulk of its resources degrading and attacking other faiths, insulting gay people and leading crusades to strip people of their civil liberties"

Yeah, but how common is that really -- as opposed to how common people think it is?

Well, I'm sure you wouldn't make stuff up, so why don't you post the links proving it?

Conservatives are more religious, and mostly tithe. All these surveys do is take IRS data "showing the value of charitable deductions claimed by Americans taxpayers." What the IRS may mean by charitable, and what most people think of as charitable, may not be the same thing.

For instance, a local fundamentalist church may spend the bulk of its resources degrading and attacking other faiths, insulting gay people and leading crusades to strip people of their civil liberties. They may never feed the hungry, clothe the naked, or comfort the afflicted. Yet in IRS terms they are a charity no matter how uncharitable they may be.

STatistics prove that and you can even look at Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin versus Obama and Joe Biden to see who gives highest percentage to charity.

During his appearance on Leno this week, President Obama again pushed the lie that Planned Parenthood provides mammograms.

"That organization [Planned Parenthood] provides millions of women with cervical cancer screenings, mammograms."

The Planned Parenthood abortion business put out a statement in response to this week’s pushback against President Barack Obama for his misleading statement in the...
