Unions Slump on Bad Obama Bet

The notion that people have the right to work w/o being forced to join a union is essentially American. Money forcibly taken from paychecks each month is used by union leaders for themselves (large salaries) and also elects people that will serve them--not the interests of the larger community. The teacher's union is very powerful and has admitted that they are not representing the interest of the child, but their own retirement and salary interests. Since all the teachers became state workers getting PERS benefits in OR, they are far better paid than most Oregon salaried positions that pay taxes to support them, & the retirement benefits are further bankrupting the state. Break up the union monopoly & reform PERS.
Just writing on articles is not enough. Send e-mails to representatives/senators on specific bills. It becomes a part of the permanent record, influences them. Short are just as effective as long. We have formed the Oregon Citizens Lobby here. We have a rm at the capitol, meet once a week, anybody can drop by all day, lobby for the people. Also, it's important to attend hearings--many times there is nobody testifying except government dept people, paid to testify! Software called Track Their Vote was developed for OR Citizens Lobby.
People ruling themselves is always subject to wickedness. G Wash said, "Government is not reason, it is not eloquent, it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant, and a fearful master." The gift of founders was to break govrnment into pieces, w/ elctions evry 2 yrs. Primary elections R the most important, general is just the left-overs. Anyone can run 4 office in the primary. Founders knew mankind is evil, as Bible says. Founders hated democracy, gave us a Republic based on judeo-christian law, the basis of western law. GWash also said, "There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters." The war cry of founders was, "We have no king but Jesus."
