When my Granddaughter announce her intention to eat vegitarian I counciled her that it would be a noble thing if done for the right reason. If, however you are going to shun meat because you fell sorry for the animals that would be a direct insult to God who informs us in the Book of Genesis that these animals are for our use. So unless you are ready to call God a liar don't do it for that reason! She changed her mind.
