Don't think you would have to pay, although I have no objection. Simply buy them coffee; I think you would have no shortage of volunteers willing to hang out for a few hours a week. Get off the golf course, out of the house. This is similar to my "replace the TSA (Thousands Standing Around)" strategy. Get retired big city cops to hang out at the airport a few hour a week. Give them them carte blanc to stop ANYONE they think is hinky. Buy them Starbucks, maybe have a cop car pick them up at home, deliver & return them.
The gun control controversy is only the latest of many issues to be debated almost solely in terms of fixed preconceptions, with little or no examination of hard facts.
