Mormons Have Irrational Beliefs? Who Doesn't?

VickyD4Liberty, you have no idea what you are talking about. There never was, or has been, the practice of cutting the skin in the Mormon Temples, nor are there any Demonic symbols in the Temples. TheTemples are a sacred place where man makes sacred covenants with his God, such as to be honest, chaste, trustworthy, to treat his fellow man well, etc. The Temples are the one pure place where man can escape the ugly and evil ways of the world, at least for a moment, and renew his faith and covenants with his God. The Temple is a place of beauty and peace. Please don't denigrate something you know nothing about.

Satan is the great imitator. God revealed religion, doctrine, and religious ordinances and ritual to mankind. After the passage of time the rituals, symbols, etc. are duplicated, modified, copied, and corrupted in various forms. They multiply and appear in many countries and societies.

So explain to me the symbols in the Temple, and why they are also associated with Masonry and Satanism.

Either you're a liar or your friends are Vicky. WHAT YOU'RE SAYING NEVER HAS, DOESN'T NOW, AND NEVER WILL HAPPEN IN OUR TEMPLES.

She does not know of which she speaks. Like so many out there that voice opinions (usually borrowed) and have little or no education and knowledge themselves of what subject they talk about.
Commentators on both the right and left and both secular and religious note with disdain that Mormons (Latter Day Saints, as Mormons refer to themselves) have irrational practices and beliefs. The former, we are told, includes the wearing of sacred undergarments and the latter includes posthumous baptisms and the claims by the prophet of Mormonism to have found and deciphered engraved golden plates in New York State.

I read and hear these dismissals of Mormonism with some amusement -- because everyone who makes these charges holds beliefs and/or practices that outsiders consider just as irrational.

Let's begin with the religious critics.
