I do believe that a few years from now when the Obama presidency comes crashing down this incident will be seen as one of the major turning points both in terms of media coverage and truthfulness. I think that more and more independent voices will emerge and the mainstream media will be forced to cover the Obama administration in an honest way.

I hope you're right, but the current press corps refuses to get up off of their knees and badly needs to wipe off their collective chins from administerinf a sloppy wet Lewinsky to dear Leader.

He's not exactly one of the usual suspects--many have noted that this whole 'You're gonna regret this' line of talk befits someone like Rahm Emmanuel. But Buzzfeed reports that it was Gene Sperling who emailed Woodward saying, "I think you will regret staking out that claim." 

The email from Sperling to Woodward, which Woodward read to Politico Wednesday, has transfixed Washington, with Republicans and some in the press charging that it embodies a White House lording it over a cowed press corps.
