Dr. Sowell is wisdom incarnated. Every article I read from the man is dead on no matter what subject be it constitutional law, history, human behaviours and, of course, economics. Just imagine if such wisdom would be in the White House. I guess we can always dream.

Big business buys politicians as a way to avoid competing. The end result is that both the politicians and fat cats win while everyone else loses. If Government would go back to what the founders intended it to be this cronysm wouldn't happen. All what politicians can sell to big business is Power they got from ignoring the constitution. Power to overule free market making it extremely attractive to big business but inefficient for the economy overall.
The solution; put the government back in it's original place and let free market decide who the winners are.

Amazing how many Hollywood characters who made millions thanks to evil capitalism keep bashing the system and praising the likes of Chavez and Castro. If they had been raised in Cuba they would be poor and unheard of. How many movie stars, directors or producers can you name from these wonderful socialist paradises can?

The exact same applies to health care. The main reason it is so expansive is because of government regulations not allowing a true free market in insurance coverage (across States) and allowing ridiculous lawsuits which pushes doctors to up their prices to cover their liabilities and promote them to ask for unnecessary tests to cover their behinds. The same applies to regulations over drug companies.
Don’t even get me started on Climate Change since it is so stupid it is not worth my time. Climate has been changing since the beginning of times and will until the end of times. Anthropogenic CO2 has an infinitely small influence when compared to all the other natural climate change sources such as the sun, the earth position, etc....
