It is painfully clear to me an honest man/woman cannot be elected as president of the US. Our sacred constitution is why we have survived this long. The degree an ambiguous politician is willing to go may vary a great deal, but how would any of us know that? Romney lost the election because good, honest conservatives stayed home and didn't exercise their singular constitutional duty. Probably because in their heart they just couldn't believe a politician could be as honest and moral as Romney. I've lived through Truman ... to Obama and my heart breaks when I see what we are allowing to happen to our constitution and then our posterity.

I feel public education has failed our society when we teach U.S. history and its practice of slavery without including the obvious fact all ethnic groups have been victims of State sponsored slavery. Man’s inhumanity to man has a normal distribution curve across all cultures and dispensations of time. mjohanse: your analogy fails for the same reason. Note: There is a trend in educational curriculum to narrow the scope of discipline outcomes in hopes of raising test scores. Although this has been successful political rhetoric for election campaigns, it has yet to achieve its promised results. Government and Unions should stay out of curriculum development and leave it to the professionals in the classroom and local school boards.
