This was a major fight over someone who was not even nominated. I do hope that the Republicans point out that Kerry (if he is nominated) is a major dirt8ag and evoke his speech from the 1970s where he basically called american soldiers savages and murderers but named no people, units times or places. He would either have to denounce his own speech and thus admit to being an extremist liar and opportunist or defend it and thus put himself out of contention.

Apparently grossly misleading the public about a terrorist attack -- whether through deliberate lies or under-informed shilling -- does have consequences.  As of this afternoon, US Ambassador to the United Nations, Susan Rice, is officially out of the post-Hillary SecState sweepstakes.  The question is, did she withdraw on her own volition, or was she given a little shove by the White House?  NBC News has the exclusive:
