20 Reasons America Is Becoming An Increasingly Nonfunctional Society

We need to use schools as a metaphor. Amazingly, school classrooms are run on a conservative basis, usually by clueless liberals. In general, students get the grade (the pay) they deserve and the grade (the pay) they worked for. There is no point sharing on tests (welfare), no sharing of points earned ("fair share"). Cheating, when discovered, is severely punished. They are sanctioned when they disrupt the classroom routine (society). When they do an unacceptable job, they either repeat the assignment or repeat the course. Unless they complete all requirements, they will not graduate (vote). I am a teacher and have never understood how liberal teachers support these principles in education but not in society.

ropati: An excellent point. The answer to your last question is that liberals always believe rules are made for someone else and never for themselves.

1) Starting in the sixties there was an explosion of children born out-of-wedlock and kids who don't grow up in two parent families fare more poorly percentage wise on just about any and every scale imaginable including substance abuse, teenage pregnancies, suicide rates, criminality and homelessness.

2) Many people are becoming so childlike in their dependence on the government that they can't save for their own retirement, escape from an oncoming hurricane, or even purchase their own birth control without the government handling it for them.

3) Our legal system encourages frivolous lawsuits, is punitively expensive...
