I, for one, am glad this passed. I am self-employed. I have been for more than 15 years. I also have Multiple Sclerosis. I have NO medical insurance. I am discriminated against because I have a pre-existing medical condition and am "uninsurable" because of the MS. Funny thing is...I can go to work for, say Walmart...wait one year...and my "pre-existing" medical condition is "COVERED". I would pay no more in the insurance premiums that someone without a "pre-existing" medical condition. OR...I can choose to apply for "disability"...get it and a check each month and still have medical insurance...But I do not feel I am "DISABLED"...Maybe this is why so many people apply for disability these days...or apply for "welfare" these days.

I am glad, and in fact glad that Obamacare has brought this to the forefront, but this bill when fully enacted will bankrupt this country beyond belief. There are better ways to do those same things that helped you without causing the economic crisis this bill will bring upon American and citizens. People apply for welfare these days because there are no jobs, if there were many would also have insurance. Glad this helped you, but it is still Bad legislation that needs changed. Even the Republicans know they cannot just repeal this bill and not replace it, hopefully with something better that at least makes sense, but we will see about that

Point three. You apparently feel that taking "disability" is somehow dishonest, when you are not actually unable to make a living. Good for you. But you do not seem to realize that accepting "health care" at a rate less than what your treatments cost is the _exact_ same thing - you are, through a middleman, forcing other people to pay for your problems.

Sorry to seem so cold - but we all have problems. I have three children to support on what the government leaves me - and two of them have been busting their rear ends to find a job for more than a year. Jobs that don't exist in the Obama utopia.

Point two. Better stay self employed, and paying taxes. Once you are not, you will find that your wonderful "coverage" is non-existent, as it is not cost-effective to a Washington bureaucrat (unless you are good friends with a member of the "1%").

Point one. You apparently live in a state where non-employer groups are not allowed. This is what group health insurance is - spreading your cost among many, many other people.

Guess what? ObamaCare was _not_ needed to fix that. Just allow group health insurance to be sold across state lines, which is actually within the original intent of the Commerce clause. No massive Federal power grab needed.

Great post; thank you and God bless!

Majority Leader Eric Cantor has stated the House will vote again to repeal ObamaCare on Wednesday July 11, just after Congress returns from the July 4 recess. From Cantor:

“The Supreme Court’s decision to uphold ObamaCare is a crushing blow to patients throughout the country. ObamaCare has failed to keep the President’s basic promise of allowing those who like their health care to keep it, while increasing costs and reducing access to quality care for patients. In this tough economy, jobs and economic growth are on the minds of most Americans, but ObamaCare has increased uncertainty for small...
