Let me first disclose that, as a former Marine Infantryman, I am strongly against war.

I believe that this war, like the wars of the last 50 years, is not a war to be won. not that we cannot win...but that we don't want to win (by 'we' I mean the ongoing criminal enterprise that is washington, dc).

Randolph Bourne said "War is the health of the State. It automatically sets in motion throughout society those irresistible forces for uniformity, for passionate cooperation with the Government in coercing into obedience the minority groups and individuals which lack the larger herd sense."

In addition, war is one side of the coin in the 'Welfare/Warfare state.' Using the "patriotic, home-team' button alluded to in the...

I'll bet you a Dollar that most folks are more familiar with the US Constitution than with their own state constitution.

Herein lies the problem.

There are people out there who hold the insane notion that the US Constitution is 'divinely inspired,' and are fixated upon America's historical position as the richest, most powerful nation in the world, as a source of misplaced national pride.

To inoculate against these, and other absurdities, everyone should read "Hamilton's Curse" by Thomas DiLorenzo.

Learn about the Kentucky & Virginia resolutions of 1798 (also known as "the principles of '98").

Then, get to know your own state constitution. Learn the address and phone number of your state house...
MPS...lol. liked that one.

Since we've had lots of duty protecting the muslims (see: Kosovo) I suppose it's time for someone else to take over.

I see many different, passionately held opinions from all points of political thought here. Which in itself should illustrate the need to revisit the antiquated notions of "one nation" and "indivisible."

A nation of 300+ million wildly diverse subjects simply cannot be fairly and effectively ruled by a single national authority.

Who is to abandon their deeply held convictions for the greater good? The folks in San Francisco, CA ...Deerborn, MI ...Guntersville, AL ...Galveston, TX???

The majority of people in each of these places holds beliefs that are irreconcilable with the beliefs of the others.

Statism, whether it originates from the left, or the right, is tyranny and oppression.

"...when a long...
for these suicidal ROE...it is the commanders in the field who are actually obeying these unlawful orders and, consequently are responsible to their own men for their needless deaths.

Back in the late '90's during peacetime deployments, we (Marines) would have a weaselly lawyer with us on float to explain the ROE. Even then, these fvckn dirt-bags would usually be tree hugging liberal weenies.

They say "$hit rolls down hill." And in the history of warfare, it is always the enlisted private who pays the ultimate sacrifice for the treachery of his chain of command.

Like me, young men volunteer for the Marines because they believe in something greater than themselves. I must respect that commitment to a cause even if I...
Never again will I place a political party before my principles.

The republican party was founded on corruption & plunder [as a phoenix, reborn from the ashes of the American Whig Party]. Despite this parentage, they have flirted with conservatism over the years, and briefly, during the new deal, it looked as though the republicans might achieve greatness despite their ideological ancestry.

Unfortunately, the party long ago dismissed the idea of rising above their legacy of statism when Taft lost in the primary to Eisenhower.

Now, for all practical purposes, we live under one-party rule. Both sides agree on the power and majesty of the central state. The disagreement is one of implementation. For examples, both...

Put me in charge, and I will institute policies similar to those of Vlad Tepes.

He protected his nation against an onslaught of hostile muslim invaders, as well as traitorous nobles...i.e. "enemies foreign and domestic."

First, I will deal with the domestic enemies of liberty and free markets by identifying the still-living, self-appointed "experts" and "leaders" of both parties who have been advocating for statism.

Second, I will separate their heads from their necks, and place each one on a spike in concentric rings around Washington D.C.

Third, I will destroy all monuments to a central state (starting with the Lincoln memorial).

Fourth, I will bring all of our military men home and post them on our...
...Would not be what it is today"

THAT, is precisely my point.
Lincoln and the Lieber code provided the loopholes to allow unrestricted warfare against civilians. This set the precedent for the next century.

From Lincoln, to McKinley, to TR, to Wilson, to Roosevelt, to Truman, to Johnson and so on until we've ended up almost at the bottom of the barrel.

All these men took actions that inexorably to the next bad decision. Without US involvement in WWI, there would have been no WWII. And the only real winner in WWII was Stalin.

Our nation currently has 300+ million wildly diverse subjects (and yes, you are subjects)...one single national government simply cannot rule them all effectively.

Combined with the federal reserve cartel, the national(ist) government is the worst...
