I guess no one should have to work if his job is not pleasant. That would of course require no garbage pickup, no sewer repair, etc. If I had ever worked at a job that was pleasant, I would have been looking over my shoulder, figuring something was wrong. Those jobs are out there, but the need is simply to do it, good or bad, and suck it up.

Federal employees are overpaid and underworked (probably a good thing), but a tear-jerker in today’s Washington Post reports that “job satisfaction across the government has hit its lowest point in almost a decade”:
