The Largest Tax Increase Since World War II

This is all about protecting the evil liberal interests. You can cut hundreds of billions from entitlement programs and not cut benefits to even One, NOT ONE legitimate recipient. And every Democrat and Republican in DC knows that.

There is, of course, a simple fix.....

DO NOT RAISE the debt ceiling....

Budget is IMMEDIATELY balanced...
ALL cuts would be blamed on Obama...(as he would be solely tasked with determining what would be cut)...
The ACA would be laughably underfunded (Obamacare)....
The federal government would be PROVEN an unreliable provider....
No more debt monetization....

Let's face it... The reps are going to blamed, no matter what..... Let's make it count....

If there is no increase in the debt ceiling the 2009 Budget (with Continuing resolution ad naseum) would serve as the rough framework for what even COULD BE spent....

But realistically 43% of the federal budget would HAVE TO BE CUT overnight.....

I get, and appreciate, your point. I just had to tease you about using the word 'budget' since Fairy Reid and his Senile Senate seem so allergic to it. Fox News has been running a news story on the numbers of publicly owned properties that the government could sell rather than pay for their upkeep. However, unless someone gets their pockets lined, a reasonable solution such as that will go unnoticed.

The beautiful part of that tactic though is....

The Dems can't do ANYTHING to stop it.....

AND it WILL hurt them FAR more than the rest of us.....

As to the 'budget' reference.... I know.... ; )

Excellent point. It is always rather amazing that the DC Crowd never bothers to cut duplicative programs. The one time Clinton and the GOP Congress did it, they did not get rid of the program but made an active job search or job training a requirement to receive the funds for children. The program almost dried up after that as the number of people applying fell so sharply.

They will steal from the citizens, that paid into the SS system, and either use it for their benefit or give it away to buy votes.

Just like Bill Clinton, to make it look like he had a surplus.

Fully going over the fiscal cliff would be the largest tax increase since World War II, according to the Tax Foundation and will result in the highest top tax rates in decades. They've composed a chart tracking marginal rates since 1954. Take a look at the end, and the size of the jump projected in tax rates:

Keep in mind that as rates have come down, average tax revenue has stayed roughly the same. Reforms to the U.S. tax code have given us one of the most - if not the single most - progressive...
