News articles have referred to the exposing of the emails as having been done by a hacker. Has that been proven? Some earlier stories had indicated that it was either a hacker or a whistle-blower from inside the CRU.

A couple of years ago, I read that Microsoft Corporation had gotten rid of their lawnmower service and hired some goats to eat the grass in front of their headquarters building, the theory being that the mowers were causing "global warming" by emiting CO2. However, the goats actually convert the grass to methane, which they produce in large quantities. Let's face it. Well-fed goats expel a lot of gas. Have they ever measured which system contributes more to "global warming"? I would bet the mowers are less polluting than the goats. Does anyone know?
