"Figures do not lie, but liars figure." Does anyone recall who originally said that? I look at the credibility of the source whenever I read a poll result. CNN lacks credibility IMHO. If Shakespeare were alive today, I would expect him to write, "Methinks CNN protests too much." On the other hand, I see crop after crop of graduates from the public school system who lack the knowledge and understanding of the basics required to become a responsible adult. I also remember a sage comment from Walt Kelly, the deceased author of the cartoon strip "Pogo." One of his most famous quips was, "I have met the enemy and it is us."
The definition of the brand name "marriage" is settled common law that existed at least 3,000 years before our nation even existed. It is a vow of fidelity between one man and one woman given to each other in the presence of at least two witnesses that endures so long as both shall live. Neither organized religion nor any government owns the brand name "marriage." Neither the presence of a government magistrate nor a religious cleric is necessary for a marriage vow to be valid. Organized religion may elevate this vow of fidelity to a sacramental state with God as the third party to the vow, thereby making it subject to church law. Government's role is to affirm the existence of the vow to establish financial, property, citizenship and other legal rights for the marriage partners and their offspring. Government uses a legal object called a contract to accomplish its role in the marriage relationship. Unfortunately, the contract is inherently inadequate to fulfill its responsibilities when the vow of fidelity is violated by at least one of the partners, or never existed because the vow was flawed when it was made. Therein lies the problem. Marriage has been redefined to become something it is not and never was. Contracts can be "tailored" to provisions that violate the original components of the vow of fidelity. Contracts can be terminated. This causes consequences that destroy the family unit. This destruction cascade into social and economic issues that damage the members of the family, extended family, and create a burden to the welfare system of government to mention a few. The surest way to make a bad situation worse is to solve the wrong problem or pioneer the wrong thing. The surest way to make a solution fail is to let a politician design it.

I never won anyone over to my way of thinking by insulting them or the people they respect. What you say about others defines who YOU are and how YOU think, not who your target for character assassination IS and how THEY think. Your remarks are not credible. This is the stance of an Internet Troll. Did you ever stop to listen to viewpoints that differ from your own? Did you ever consider the possibility that these dissenters may be valiantly trying to save you and people of like mindsets from the awful consequences of your behavior?
This is the same group that wanted to repeal the law of physics. Is anyone surprised? Lithium Ion batteries must have high purity ingredients (as in NOT made in China). They must not be subjected to overvoltage while charging. Otherwise, they will internally reverse polarity and short themselves out internally. Since graphite is the principle ingredient and air is the other electrolyte, the results are predictable (all bad). Given the fact that the gasoline tank to drive the booster engine sits on top of the battery pack, that adds fuel to the fire below. This means that rarified atmospheres reduces its power output. If the battery pack gets whacked in an automobile accident, uh oh!
I say this as a friend. You need to do your homework about the factors that affect oil pricing. Start with the effects of currency inflation of the US dollar. Add the government intrusion into the energy providers in general, and the petroleum industry in particular. Next, study how the politicians behind all of this earned their wealth and find out where their allegiances lie. Use your common-sense poligraph to determine their lie index. Then you will discover who the "Rich Pinko Commie Rats" really are. One final suggestion. Name-calling never moves the minds of others toward your point of view. Instead, it defines their opinion of you and destroys the credibility of anything you say or write. Do not go there.
We have bicycles that use roadways. Walkers and joggers use sidewalks when available, and streets when sidewalks arenot available. Light rail with trackage, bridges for walkers and bikers exist in some areas. Maintenance crews used a platform on four wheels with a two-person crank to move it along the tracks. It ran on muscle encouraged by a bit of libation now and then. Add a rubber tire option and a steering mechanism to adapt them to a gas-free hybrid transportation solution. Trams could push them on the rails, then they could wheel on streets to their destination. Of course, they need diamond-lane commuter privileges because they are two-person vehicles. Sound like a good idea? An Irish "modest proposal."

The President does not make law. He approves or rejects law made by Congress. Having said that, the worst thing he did for the economy is appoint Bernanke to be the Chair of the FED.

Large customers of portable energy look for price stability. People that sell energy are required to contract for extended periods of time. They place hedges through contracts for future delivery. There are all kinds of financial instruments to buy and sell energy. Puts and calls, futures markets for commodities, take or pay contracts, all help to provide price stability in a volatile market. The reason gasoline prices remain high is inflation of the currency. This is a tax on savings and investment. This is how government can "rebalance the economy" by making everyone equally poor.
Our government and our Constitution rests on a three-legged stool: balance of power, separation of power, and limitation of power. Saw off or shorten any or all legs and bad things happen. Order and harmony turns to disorder and chaos. Give any group an edge in any of these three attributes of power and they will abuse it.

Perhaps you are inebriated with your own verbosity. You seem to presume that public assistance had something to do with his successful career. There is a possibility that he was successful in spite of public assistance. As for handing it over, why don't you go first?
