Pandering to Hispanics will not solve our problems, and boy do we, as a nation, have problems. Thank you Barry for driving those wedges! Color, income, religion, Barry has used them all to try to get enough ill-informed racists, hate mongers, and the usual moochers to stay in office to continue the rape of our treasury for his Marxist agenda(s). With the help of his media and outright lies, he just might win. We need a ticket of articulate conservatives that are not afraid to call a spade a spade and attack this administration, with the “truth”, for their failures in every policy they have forced on us. Getting along, once again, will end in defeat IMHO.

As the Latino population continues to grow 8 times faster than the white population in the USA, it would become imposible for a GOP candidate to get elected President carrying less than the 40% of latino voters Bush was able to get. It is simple demographics. Hence, Republicans would be forced to start listening to the concerns of Latino voters or face irrelevance.

What would be the difference? Okay, here's the scenario everyone seems to want to project: You pander to a group to get its support (meanwhile selling your soul because you are standing up for rewarding criminal behavior), Then the pandered-to group gets bigger because you pandered to it. So now you have to pander harder. And the group gets bigger. And you pander harder and harder until, what? Until you lose your country (and your soul). Why not just do what's right from the beginning and stand on principle -- and not believe necessarily that voting Hispanics, who came here legally want this monstrosity of illegal immigration to continue.

James, really.

Stand on principle?

Liberals?! Get real.

Sorry for the late reply, Bufa, but I wasn't here. I don't understand what you're saying, and it intrigues me enough to ask: What on earth are you talking about? Stand on principle - Liberals? I wasn't talking about Liberals if that's what you think. I was talking about Republicans. I was saying that instead of pandering, which would incur predictable and disastrous results, why not stand on principle - not pander? If you lose, you haven't lost your soul by compromising your values, and you MIGHT JUST win, because maybe, just maybe this elusive "Hispanic vote" may be exaggerated by ALL the media, FOX included.

For our May issue, the Townhall editorial team compiled a list of the hottest vice presidential contenders out there and made the case for their selection. We had a a few criteria when crafting the list: a statesman (or woman!) who has led on conservative policy, is politically viable, inherently marketable and appeals to America’s imagination.

Here's one of the top eight candidates and four honorable mentions that made the cut. Agree or disagree? Read the full article, and then voice your...
