We are advancing well into our downfall, as engineered by our progressives in academia. It's taken decades to finally have dumbed down our voter pool to the level where shiny things and unfulfilled promises rule the day. All our elected law makers are speaking about saving us in 10-20-30 years, with their hard hitting proposals. They have no idea what's going to happen next month, let alone in 10 years. But the voters have been so indoctrinated, they can promise Utopia, and be carried on the shoulders of their cheering drones. Time is indeed drawing short.

People on both sides of tax issues often speak of such things as a "$300 billion tax increase" or a "$500 billion tax decrease." That is fine if they are looking back at something that has already happened. But it can be sheer nonsense if they are talking about a proposed increase or decrease in the tax rate.

The government can only raise or lower the tax rate. Whether the actual tax revenues that the government will collect as a result will go up or...
