Should the "moderates" choose to speak out as you suggest, they risk their own safety. There is no such thing as a witness protection program or a whistleblower protection program for moderate Muslims who speak out against the fanatics. But there are fatwas that put such people at risk of their and their family's lives. Sad but true.

I'm seventy years old and was in my 27th year of military service in 1989. So I was very much alive and very much an adult. In fact, I played a minor role in the eventual tearing down of the Berlin wall. So you can stop wondering.

I agree. Gibberish is precisely the correct word to describe those lyrics. Perhaps the only way one could have made anything meaningful out of those lyrics was to be stoned on booze and drugs. Maybe Mike was having a flashback when he wrote this column? Some of the stuff the "counter-culture" types were toking and stoking in those days supposedly subjected users to some bizarre flashbacks.

Three Cords And The Truth

Our son, who is now 50 years old, was diagnosed as "Hyperactive with Attention Deficit" when he was in the first grade (that was 1970). He went the full gamut of the various treatments for seven years (Dexedrine, Ritalin, therapy, etc.). When he was 13 we read a book by Dr. Benjamin Feingold, an Allergist, titled "Why Your Child is Hyperactive". Dr. Feingold believes many cases of hyperactivity are caused by allergy to artificial flavors and colors found then (and still today) in most processed foods. We meticulously controlled our son's diet, eliminating foods with artificial flavors and colors, and his "Hyperactivity with Attention Deficit" went away. The message here - find and treat the cause of the problem rather than just treat the symptoms.
And you don't think a Harry Reid run Senate WON'T ram through "Immigration Reform"? If you do, you arte clearly delusional.
No way do we want a Constitutional Convention. Such a convention could, and probably would, result in a total re-write of the entire Constitution. And who would do that re-writing? The delegates to a Constitutional Convention would be elected by the same people who elected Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama. The same people who elected Hillary Clinton to the Senate, Ted Kennedy to the Senate, Chuck Schumer to the Senate, Harry Reid to the Senate, etc. You get my point? It is far too dangerous to hold a Constitutional Convention Mark Levine is completely wrong on this score.

Champaign is a city in Illinois. Champagne is an alcoholic sparkling wine adult beverage made from grapes grown in the Champagne region of France. Some vintners in other areas of the world inappropriately call their version of sparkling wine Champagne as well.
Dr. Adams already has tenure. That's why he could continually torment the UNC-W administration and some (many?) of his co-workers by bashing them for their efforts to stifle free speech. This case was about the fact that the school refused to promote Dr. Adams from Associate Professor to full Professor and they did so based on his use of his speech rights to express his Christian and Conservative views and beliefs.

Be careful what you wish for. A Constitutional Convention could result in a total rewrite of the Constitution - a totally new Constitution. The delegates to such a Convention would be elected by the same idiots who elect the members of the House and the Senate. In fact, it's likely the delegates to a Constitutional Convention would be mostly the same dopes currently in the House and Senate. Do you want people like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid writing a new Constitution for you? I hope not.

Loyal Dem is a satirist of the first order. His posts quite accurately state the Liberal/Progressive positions on the issues. He (or she?) does this to bring those positions into the clear light of day so you and I and others can see exactly what the Liberals/Progressives/Socialists are really thinking. Rather than resort to the same tactics (name calling) used by those who attack Conservatives, just relax and enjoy the satire.
