Absolutely right. I have personally seen many Civil Service jobs reclassified merely to give an employee a pay raise. Fortunately, I had the ability to put a stop to a very tiny bit of this scam at one time because I had to approve any new civilian "supervisory" positions and my standards for such positions were pretty rigorous. Not many got approved on my watch in my very small corner of the DoD world. I was a very unpopular guy in some circles. C'est La Vie.

When I have dental x-rays taken they put a lead shield over my chest all the down to cover my genitals - the very areas the TSA wants to be able to see with their idiotic machine. I have a pacemaker/defibrillator implanted so cannot enter the x-ray machine and would have to be patted down. A VAT is a hidden tax that is added on to the cost of goods at every step of the process of manufacturing, delivering, and selling the good. A VAT is included in the retail price you will pay for a good and you will not really know how much of what you pay at the cash register is tax. Such a tax is very easy to increase. Anyone who believes instituting a VAT will result in the reduction or elimination of any other tax a dreaming - big time. You give politicians - any politicians - more money and they will spend it. I fear his every decision and action would have been influenced by his "blame Whitey" for everything attitude. I believe the President was well aware of this and is another reason why I do not believe he really wants to be a uniter and not a divider.
