Rockefeller's comments about McCain show just how unintelligent he really is. Hey Jay! There was no such thing as laser guided bombs when John McCain was performing his heroic duties as a Navy pilot over North Vietnam. And he sure as heck wasn't dropping any bombs from his A-4 from 35,000 feet. Probably closer to 3,500 feet. Tell us, Jay-boy - what was the nature of YOUR wartime military service?

The A-4 Skyhawks McCain flew were used to drop napalm, white phosphorous, and cluster bombs. The first two had to be dropped from very low altitudes to be accurate and cluster bombs were, as you say dropped from a few thousand feet, often less.

Senate Republicans have their work cut out for them after last year's unmitigated electoral disaster.  To reclaim Congress' upper chamber, the GOP needs to net six seats in the 2014 midterm elections.  That task is a bit of a longshot, but this piece of breaking news brightens the picture a smidgen:
