I keep hearing how California "voted to raise taxes on themselves," as this was a selfless and heroic act of "shared responsibility." They did nothing of the sort. The overwhelming majority did what liberals always do--they voted to raise taxes on a tiny minority (aka "the rich"), and distribute the spoils to themselves through the benevolent hand of government. America, by and large, did the same. I may move to Greece--their economic future is starting to look more promising than ours.
