Does Global Warming on Earth Attract Asteroids?

Firstly, he didn't say that the close approach of the asteroid is related to global warming. Secondly, other sources have sited that the difference between this asteroid and the one that hit Arizona is that the former is made of stone and the latter was made of iron, hence not anywhere near as big an impact. It would not destroy an entire city. Third, that's perhaps the most ignorant question I've heard on a news network, and that's saying a lot.

Just out of curiosity, is not the formula M=mv independent of the composition of the "m"? What are the "sited" sources?

According to one CNN anchor, this is a serious question that can only be answered by Bill Nye the Science Guy.

So, apparently so-called "global warming" inside the Earth is now somehow connected to asteroids in space. Got it. As Bill Nye said,  "It's all science!"
