But in 1913 the Republic was turned into a Democracy, a form of government that our Founding Fathers considered suicidal. • Equal taxation died with the 16th Amendment allowing an income tax. When first proposed, we were told that only the incomes of the wealthiest 1% would be taxed and that the rate would be from 1% to 7%. "In one form or another, this idea goes back at least as far as the French Revolution in the 18th century." As much as I admire Dr. Sowell, he falls short by about 2300 years. As someone committed to reading books about every activity I plan to undertake, I know that you do not learn how to do something or manage something by reading a book or taking a class. If I believe this, why am I committed to these activities. Because you read books or take classes to learn that which you do not know about the activity. This arms you with knowledge of what you have to learn by going out and doing.

You can commit to memory every cookbook ever written and sound convincing discussing cooking with the greatest chefs in the world. But, until you boil your first pot of water you know nothing.
