Forget the arts... teach specific knowledge, sciences etc, along with an accurate account of history and its' consequences, then and only then might we compete with the world!

Can Republicans Talk?: Part II

What part of this country being broke do you not understand? If you add up all of the bills we already owe for SS, Medicare and Medicaid for the next 25 years, it comes to 120 trillion dollars. That's nearly 350,000 per person. Then you want to add another monster entitlement i.e. healthcare, to an already impossible debt. Have you been watching the news? Haven't you seen all these countries who have done the same are now facing serious default on their debt? As the old saying goes, "something that can not happen, will not happen". There will be only two solutions to this debt. Outright default or hyper inflation by printing money to pay it. Either way, our country will look like a third world country when we get through. I hope you...

Wiseone, you don't sound too wise. Who do you think is paying for all of these criminals we lock up? Oh, that's right, you think it's coming out of Obama's bank account! Let's send the criminals home and shoot anyone who tries to cross the border illegally into the US. They will soon get the message and do their dirty work within their own country! Otherwise, you will wake up one morning, reading about another attack within the US, from enemies crossing in from Mexico!

Parents? Most of the time, parents are the problem. Give them their kids education money and most will spend it on things other than their children's education. Don't think so, come to Martinsville and Henry County, VA. What you will find are children whose parents don't care about education. How do you teach kids who are learning the welfare model their parents and grand parents have been trapped in for years? Why get an education and work when the government will take care of you? Why do that painful homework when most other members of your family never got an education and they are doing just fine on government assistance? My wife teaches in the public schools here. More than once, children have come to school saying they have had...

Muslims Behaving Badly

When all of Islam, tears out of the Koran the demands of their prophet Mohammad, to convert, take captive or kill the infidel, I will then believe Islam is a peaceful religion. Mohammad himself beheaded hundreds of people with his own sword. How then can his followers not easily justify killing today?

People who enslaved and lynched were not following what Christ taught. Anyone can claim to be Christian, but whether they are truly Christian can be discerned by their actions! Just remember, Christians are not perfect, we all are in need of forgiveness. Christ came and shed his blood to do just that!

No, If everyone followed what Christ taught while on earth, there would be no killing, stealing, adultery, hatred or violence of any kind. Man, what a terrible place that would be to live! You might want to read the entire New Testament and all of Christ's teachings before you make such bold statements and use his words out of context.

That a boy... take a parable about heaven and hell, then turn it into a command from Jesus for killing on earth! The problem with trying to use one verse to prove your point, you are easily proven ignorant! But hey, that's why Jesus had to come to die for sinners like you and me! None of us get it right on our own!

So Tyler, how serious are you about not believing fairy tales? Would you believe I could dig up a gold pocket watch, that is a perfect time keeping mechanism and that it just somehow formed out some sequential energy and matter over 100 million years, without any help from an intelligent being? I thought not! Did you know there are better odds of finding such a watch, than for the world to have just exploded into existence and everything you see, somehow just evolved without any help? Yes, you can deny there is a creator, but you then would be the one believing in a fairy tale!

It's tough here and I feel for anyone who has lost a job. I too lost a job in the past through bankruptcy.

The other side of the story is also tough. With no open borders for trade, the US had pretty much saturated the demand within it's borders. The best analogy is a tree growing in a pot. It won't be long before it can no longer grow because it's roots are bound within the pot.

Unfortunately, our area, Martinsville and Henry County, has been hit most hard when room was made for the tree to continue to grow. Had NAFTA been fazed in over a longer period of time, maybe we would not have had to share such a large share of the burden.

Just for grins, does anyone think Obama thinks of us each and every day as he said...
