Check out the Fair Tax, which eliminates the IRS, does away with all payroll taxes, and taxes consumption, not production.

An erudite and well-reasoned explanation. Thank you.
I'm sure that he learns a lot from some of these posts. At least the ones that make sense, and not those that resort to insults and name-calling.
I'm just curious about osama's interest on the state of Bob Dole's wang, and where he got his information?
Osama, you wrote "The overall objective is to characterise the response of Southern Ocean calcareous zooplankton to ocean acidification resulting from anthropogenic CO2 emissions. Simulated increases in anthropogenic CO2 suggest a reduction in the calcification rates of calcareous organisms. A change in the calcification in the Southern Ocean may cause marine ecosystem shifts and in turn alter the capacity for the ocean to absorb CO2 from the atmosphere." Did you happen to notice that "simulated" (read computer modeled) increases "suggest" (read without proof), and golly gee, this "may" (read we don't really know, but we hope you believe us anyway) cause marine ecosystem shifts..... Perhaps you would benefit from a course in critical...

Reforming Medicare the Right Way

Hal: I had a great insurance program, but when I turned 65, I was forced into medicare. Now there are two doctors within 25 miles of my home that accept medicare, and one of those is less than competent. So now I get substandard care, with my insurance covering only the 10% that medicare doesn't. In addition, if medicare doesn't cover it, my insurance won't either. So illnesses and procedures that were previously covered may no longer be. This medicare recipient is NOT extremely satisfied with my coverage and treatment. Turn 65, and you may not be either.

So, gatorbait, are you advocating less welfare (which I believe you are), or higher minimum wage?
