Do you even know what empirical means? What studies have you looked at and how are they flawed? Just because voter turnout is dismal in poor areas does not mean they don't vote for the party that provides the handouts. Does your research of voting patterns in poor areas refute this claim?

All of us should be on guard against beliefs that flatter ourselves. At the very least, we should check such beliefs against facts.
