Years ago I worked in Manhattan. Once in a while I would go to a basement to a print shop on Park Avenue South. It was the Yiddishe Foorvart a Jewish newspaper for those who could still speak Yiddish. Forward of course is the Marxist motto. The paper has the distinction of sponsoring Eugene V. Debs, the first Socialist candidiate for US President. He lost but there is still a radio station named for him, WEVD.
