SSD is, simply put, nothing but a vote buying scheme. I would argue that even people who are legitimately disabled have no right to put their hands into other peoples pockets simply because they have some "need". As a citizen who pays taxes--as opposed to the half who do not--I am sick of having what I earned coerced from me and given to scam artists in exchange for votes. If it were up to me the lot of them, scam artists and crooked polititians alike would never see the light of day again except through steel bars.

A little Biblical knowledge would not hurt you. All Scripture is from God (2 Tim 3:16), scripture forbids homosexual behavior (Romans 1:27), ergo Jesus--being very God of very God--did preach about the evils of gays.

"To create and apply knowledge". That is a telling statement. Actual knowledge is not "created", it is acquired. But "creating" knowledge is what the United Methodist Church is in the business of doing. The UMC has long since repudiated the clear teaching of Scripture in favor of a social gospel of its own creation. It has fabricated its own belief system that denies the authority of scripture and in its place it puts the desires of men. Actually, I'm a little surprised that Mr. Emmer would even consider darkening the door of such a place.

Knowing something about human nature, I know that it is easier to appeal to greed than integrity in the generations of people who have had all notions of personal responsibility carefully stripped away by a government with ulterior motives.
