When you analyze the voting numbers of the 2012 election (total number of eligible voters vs. number that voted) you will see that obama only got votes from 29% of eligible voters. He and the Dems do not have the widespread support that the media would have us believe. I believe that the 29% number represents the reliable Democrat base, and a cap on the number of votes that they are likely to receive if they continue their current behavior. I do not know if they have become desperate or totally unhinged, but to pursue the losing issue of gun control in this country flies in the face of rational behavior. They are definitely motivating their opposition far more than their own base.

Only one minor disagreement, John. I seriously doubt that obama authored his biographies, and I know he doesn't author the speeches that he reads.

The founders certainly foresaw a situation such as we have now. There are remedies built into the Constitution to remove a cancer like obama from office. What they did not foresee was that the entire political class would become so corrupt in their desire for power that they would ignore and pervert the provisions of that document, and that they would be enabled in their efforts by an anti-American press.
