I said before the convention Romney had it won. Once Romney threw Ron Paul under the bus, I said he was going to lose. All Romney needed to get the independent votes he had to have to win was Ron Paul, who had the ground game Romney could never put together. A Romney-Ron Paul ticket would have been unbeatable. But we have seen the opposition party to Democrats fail three times before in America, Federalists, National Republicans, and Whigs, because they could not relate to the voters. Romney reduced Ron Paul's real momentum to a power point presentation at the convention, and that was why he lost.

Memorandum to the GOP: When running an election campaign it is often valuable to select a nominee who represents the rank and file of the Party. This is how other Parties do it. Perhaps you might get on board.
