In response to:

The Fallacy of Redistribution

Redistributiuon of wealth ? Ha ! The republicans in Washington have been redistributing wealth for ages in America. But they do it as reverse Robin Hoods, stealing from the poor and middle class to make the rich even richer . And you can be absolutely certain that if Mitt Romney is elected this November, he,Paul Ryan and his whole administration will not only continue being reverse Robin Hoods, but do an even more efficient and devastating job of making it even harder for hte poor to escape poverty and easier for the middle class to sink helplessly into poverty . And they will hypocritically blame the victims and accuse them of being "lazy".

Robin Hood DID NOT steal from the rich!!! He stole from GOVERNMENT!!!

The Obamba steals from the poor, the middle class, and the rich, to give to government, including himself.

Miss Robert, your post is idiotic--and that statement is being kind.

You demonstrate that you do not understand much of anything at all. Republicans steal from the poor??
Jeez Louise, what planet are you living on?

Arley -- he's right that they DO steal from the middle class to give to the corporations. Both parties do.

More abject stupidity from Ranger Robert.

How exactly do you think that Republicans do this?? An even better question is why do you not think that democtrats do it as well?? Government policies to regulate virtually any sector of the economy cost the poor and middle class more money as well as the wealthy. When gov regulates the energy sector like they are now with Cap and Trade or forcing energy companies to create more of their energy from "renewables" those costs of doing business are passed on to we the consumers which include the poor and middle class. In each case like this those are exactly the people who can least afford the increases. The wealthy barely feel the effects.

Both parties see the middle classes as cows to be milked. The GOP was founded for the express purpose of taking money from (Southern) taxpayers and handing it over to (Northern) industrialists. The GOP has not changed all that much since its inception. This worked so well at getting the GOP "campaign contributions" that the Democrats got in on the action. Why do you think Obama gets so much from Wall Street?

The Democrats figured out that they could buy votes form "the poor" by taking money from the middle class taxpayer and giving it to "poor" people for not working. This worked so well that the GOP go in on the racket.

In short, both parties have become indistinguishable. Both rob the middle class to give to the upper & lower class

Please explain , just how does one get rich by sealing from the poor. Are the poor richer than we are lead to believe? If I am going to seal to get rich I am not going to the hood. I would be headed to Beverly Hills. I have heard all the gold in Calie is in the banks in Beverly Hills.

I dunno, but ask any credit card issuer.

"Interest is theft? You're a fool"

Since you inquire so pleasantly, I've heard that the big money is in fees & penaltys.

Dear Miss Irresponsible, your "handle" seems to describe you pretty well. Congrants on that.

Banks that issue credit cards a person can apply for are stealing from the poor? Are you serious? Nobody forces people to apply for OR USE credit cards.

The implication or your comment is that people who are poor are stupid and haven't a clue about how to use credit cards.

"Nobody forces people to apply for OR USE credit cards"

Well, I guess that's why all the CreditCard issuers so enthusiastically support Ms Warren's new agency.

Since no one ever forced anyone to get a credit card and since the availability of credit has been a long standing and incredibly successful means of allowing people to significantly improve their living standards before they could otherwise afford it, the notion that anyone in the credit industry is getting rich by stealing from the poor is just to stupid for words.

No one in their right might supports anything that crackpot proposes.
The recently discovered tape on which Barack Obama said back in 1998 that he believes in redistribution is not really news. He said the same thing to Joe the Plumber four years ago. But the surfacing of this tape may serve a useful purpose if it gets people to thinking about what the consequences of redistribution are.

Those who talk glibly about redistribution often act as if people are just inert objects that can be placed here and there, like pieces on a chess board, to carry out some grand design. But if human beings have their own responses to government policies,...
