In response to:

5 Things the Gun Grabbers Apparently Don't Understand

It's about time we got rid of that idiotic and highly misleading term "gun grabbers ". REASONABLE gun control is NOT the same thing as "grabbing guns ", any more than requiring people to have driving licenses is "grabbing cars " from people . \ President Obama is NOT a "gun grabber". He is not trying to grab guns from private citizens in America. No one is . Hawkins is just rehashing the same old tired right-wing lies about guns .

How about "firearm filchers" ? . Naw, too long and cumbersome. I'll stick with "gun grabbers" for now

There is no such thing as reasonable gun control when the liberals get done writing the fine print or pushing their agenda with lies.

"Assault weapon is a bogus term invented by anti-gun politicians to scare people who dont know anything about guns, Who would want to ban low power, ergonomic, hunting, defencse and competotion rifles that are no faster with aimed fire tham most other guns?

You don't have to have a driving license to own a car. You have to have one to OPERATE that car on the road. So, I shouldn't need a license to own a gun either. However; if I go through the background check, the firearms course and purchase a liability policy, I should be able to do with my gun what you do with your car and that is operate it anywhere in the US 24/7. Now, that's equality.

Oh, the tired old comparison of licensing cars and guns. Let's break that down. Do you need a license and registration to keep a car, or even drive it, on your own property? Nope. Only if you plan to use it on a public thoroughfare. But gun grabbers want us to be licensed and have our guns registered just to possess them in our own houses. Do you need to have a background check when you purchase a car to see if you're mentally ill or a previously convicted felon, or domestic abuser? Nosiree. If I have a permit to carry a gun in one state, is that permit automatically valid in all 50 states? Nope. Do we ban cars which can go faster than the maximum speed limits, thus allowing drivers to break the law and endanger society at large? Nope.

You have been very misinformed. Obama and several other Democrats have admitted they do not favor private gun ownership.

Beyond that, central governments have a long history of banning private weapons. It is the norm - hence the need for the 2d Amendment.

Yes he is. They want to prevent anyone who currently owns a semiautomatic rifle, shotgun or pistol, which they don't like, from ever selling it or passing it on to an heir. Thus, the government becomes the "technical owner" and when you die, they will TAKE it. This is a pure gun grab, disguised as "reasonable" gun control. An idiotic stiff like you, Robert1824, has bought into the misleading rhetoric, apparently.
"I’m not a gun owner and, as I think as is the case for the more than half the people in the country who also aren’t gun owners, that means that for me guns are alien. In the current rhetorical climate people seem not to want to say: I think guns are kind of scary and don’t want to be around them." -- Josh Marshall

"A fear of weapons is a sign of retarded sexual and emotional maturity." -- Sigmund Freud

Sorry, but your Second Amendment rights no longer apply because liberals like Josh Marshall tinkle on themselves...
