Old Boxing Matches

Everything you say is so true as always. This article brings back such memories of my childhood watching the weekly fights on television as far back as the early 50's. I remember so vividly the wonderful welterweight and middleweight fighters from that era - Sugar Ray Robinson (the best of the best!), Carmen Basilio, Gene Fullmer, etc. I don't know how these fighters would fare against the greats of today but I remember a commentator on ESPN talking about one of the middle rounds of the Robinson-Basilio middleweight championship fight of 1957 - he said that he saw more action in that one round than in the entirety of many of todays fights. Those older champions did seem to have better sportsmanship and more pure character. There...
