By the way, there is about to be an east coast strike for the ILA. The local guys don't want to strike (Norfolk), but are going to be drawn into it by the ILA in NYC/Newark
So, Michigan has been dominated by Unions for 30 plus years and now has the highest unemployment in the nation. That alone should give you pause to think about what they have done to the labor market. You know, there is a very good reason that the Asian automkers turned down all of those trained US auto workers in the Rust belt and build in the south instead.
I love it when libs say republicans are the party of the rich, then on the other hand say the republicans are stupid. So which is it. Stupid rich men are rarely rich very long. SO, Which is it? I want every liberal in the country to answer that question.
Demosclerosis should be required reading for any conservative. I don't care that Jonathon Rauch is a liberal. He's right. Every program develops an interest to protect it that will forever lobby to increase it's share of the federal budget. Programs never die due to those same interests. In the end, it leads to a government rich in tax dollars, but poor on flexibility to solve problems or address debt.

Why aren't the teachers unions pushing for better discipline in schools, after all it is in the interest of their members to work in a safe environment? If the Teachers Unions would support real discipline in schools, I could actually back them on that one issue. Alas, they would rather just get paid more for babysitting.
Not that it means anything, but Deleware was a slave state. I guess Joe owes a debt for his ancestors transgressions. I say we find out and put a lien on his property based on what his ancestors did.

Yes they will have to feed themselves. But in a much worse context. Total chaos in the economy caused my massive inflation and a government default. you pointed out an obvious truth(to me anyway) If you believe in social safety nets, public assistance for the poor, the ability of the government to commission building of roads, bridges and ports, then you must vote to put us on a path towards fiscal responsibility. Once we lose control of this situation, we won't be making these decisions anymore, the bond market will

Here's what the the useful idiots who will be voting for Obama fail to realize. If we don't address social security and Medicare, in just a couple of decades, they will not exist in any form whatsoever. Just a mathematical fact. If we don't address our debt very soon, then there will be a day when the bond market does it for us. Either that, or they are the mooches that don't care
