Krauthammer is correct, little difference between parties. Since FDR and his new Deal, our Senate no longer acts on behalf of the states. The Senators are all about re-election, so we get the "chicken in every pot" mentality. Government has grown dramatically as a result and after LBJ the "entitlement mentatality" has reigned. We need to return to what our founders setup and envisioned for America, small federal government, with individual states having more power to control their own social issues and individuals responsible for their own decisions in life.
