Ohh BrianR. Is it your turn to be on ths=is site? If it were me I'd go drink myself silly... So sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a wonderful post, Steve! I was raised as an Air Force brat and lived in Casablanca, Morocco in the late 1950's. I suspect that because I was brought up in the military and saw the extreme poverty in that country, I've never seen American "exceptionalism" as encompassing a "moral superiority". I do believe our "exceptionalism" stems from our willingness to militarily defend those unable to defend themselves and our willingness to provide both physical and monetary relief to disaster victims even in countries that politically do not like us. I would put Canadian "exceptionalism" in the same category. I have Canadian friends and have also traveled in your country. Our two nations have much in common and much to be shared. A...

But, as he says, this is first amendment territory, so he (and Taft) are allowed to proclaim their factless and lame opinions even on this site.

In the meantime... let's just ignore them and hope that they discover the Puffington Host one day. Their opinions might make sense there.

All the best!

If you can't argue the content of the commentary, then let's misdirect the discussion to birthers.

But, don't stop there. Let's get down into the gutter and and start using adjectives that don't apply to either the commentary or it's author.

Will why don't you go over to Kos or Huffington... it will be better for your emotional health.

Very good commentary. It's indeed sad that an entertainer's last years were spent defending himself against molestation charges and drug dependency. And was his family when he died. However, saddest of all is the probability that most of his mourners were ignorant about what was going on either local or national issues.

However, I will need to disagree with you on one point. If Sarah Palin had been dem or liberal, she (and her family) would have not been subjected to the hate promulgated by the MSM.

I need only point out that both Feinstein and Pelosi are under ethics clouds. Again, I'd be hard pressed to find that item in even local or national press.

Thanks again for a good commentary.

What if Palin Were President?

You are absolutely right, Will. I wake up every day thinking about Ensign and Sanford. It just makes me shudder to think of the damage they've done to our national interests. The next thing you know they will propbably go before a judge and say that their wasn't an affair at all!

In the meantime, everyday our debt gets bigger and Obama apologizes to another dictator for America's indrescretions. Which I guess is easy to do if you weren't born in this country.

Come to think of it, Will, you might enjoy what's going on in CA. Maybe, you should think about moving there.

But, we are happy to have you stop by!!

The Secret of Palin's Staying Power

Steve Chapman have you met Kathleen Parker?

I don't understand your (or KP's) antipathy for Sarah Palin.

Sarah Palin didn't add anything to the ticket? Do you think we went to the poles to vote for a man responsible for one of the worst pieces of legislation in our history. McCain/Feingold abriged my freedom of speech and I was seriously contemplating a third party candidate.

Why don't you and KP tell us the reasons you dislike Palin... instead of hiding behind generalities (without backup)!
Michal Moore did a comedy film. Isn't that an oxymoron?

This column appeared in yesterday's Investor's Business Daily op-eds. Interestingly it was put in the "On the Left" column.
