I'm guessing that CWS is Chicago White Sox, as in South Side, since that's the year they won the WS. And he questions the reality of voter fraud? And yet lives where it was invented.
The government is certainly taking a lot more control of it. I trust big insurance more than I trust big government (granted, neither one is particularly trustworthy). Besides, libs (such as Tom Harkin) admit that the current arrangement is a 'starter home' on single payer. You sell this as a way to keep insured people from subsidizing uninsured people. Currently, virtually everyone who can afford insurance already buys it. So, taxpayers give money to the takers so they can buy insurance and the result is exactly the same as it was before. Except for the goverment getting to control it, that's the only difference.
Home state? Oh, I see. You have Michigan and Minnesota mixed up. I guess we are all just flyover country to you guys.
Did he live in Minnesota?
And yet it is perfectly fine to spend $600 billion dollars a year on means tested welfare programs for people who don't see fit to go find a job? Does that not cause the rest of society to incur additional costs? Why is that? Because, it's not about the money, it's about government gaining control over a critical aspect of your life. When they control your healthcare they control you.
Exactly right. Libs try to make the analogy to car insurance, but you don't have to drive a car. I'm not even sure this will meet their goal of redistribution. It will certainly pull more of the middle class into DMV-quality medicaid, but the rich will still be able to buy the best healthcare outside the grid. The only way they will get their pound of flesh from rich people is that health care innovation will decline overall as prices to providers are controlled by the government, but we will all suffer from that.
@Networker 7:17 PM - The question was whether or not liberties are being taken away, not justification for why it is ok to take liberties away.
The new legislative process is to just issue executive orders for whatever you want to do.
But you aren't free to NOT buy insurance.
No, you won fair and square. You're in charge. Keep on running the economy into the ground and see how you do in 2016.
