Let's not forget the other RINOs that pat themselves on the back for being such good Republicans, but wouldn't support a Conservative principle if their lives depended on it. Let's add to your list: McConnell and Richard Burr. And what in God's Name is John Boehner doing? Political winds pick up and you can see his feet shifting. Rasmussen is exactly right, these people get to DC and become convinced of the righteousness of making political deals rather than wrapping themselves in the Constitution and defending Liberty! I am all for working things out amicably, our political system exists to provide recourse. However, while method can be open to compromise, never can principle.

The Last Boomer?

And...the generations under 30 never lived with Communism being a ruthless competing force. They have no idea about the Catholic priests that would smuggle Bibles into Poland in the 60s and 70s. They are just learning about what the Chinese that make their wonderful Macbooks, do to babies. Most Americans under 30 consider Communism just another political system and when their personal finances don't allow a Thursday off to go play in the park or a Friday play date at he office to play World of Warcraft III, then they ask, "why can't we try this Socialism thing". The post Baby Boomers will bring us Soylent Green.

If anybody thinks that "Boomers" falling by the wayside is going to help anything, then you have not been around our wonderful college age kids over the last 40 years. I was in K-12 in the 70s and 80s, and college in the mid 80s and early 90s. It has only gotten "Progressively" worse. Worse because the generations after the Boomers have no idea what America looked like before the Boomers. I only know what my Depression era grandparents told me and what my "War-Baby"(kids born 41-45) showed me from there photo albums. My generation and later have been served by "uber" Left teachers and gutless preachers. Most adults under 50 will tell you the purpose of government is to control the people, the younger they are the more they believe this.

Destroying the California Dream

You folks that express the idea that we can just allow CA to fall obviously don't understand that CA's geographic size is the same as Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia...combined! It has more agricultural production than twice that number of states, not to get into every other industry that produces there. To just shrug and ignore CA is to hand the Dems a huge advantage that is pretty difficult for us to ever recover from. The rest of the US just does not have the population to overcome the political advantage in electoral votes, let alone every other advantage. The only thing we have going for us right now is that CA government is self destructing at every level. Now is the time to prevent us being drug down with them

The problem with your argument is that California is not Rhode Island. We, as US Citizens, need to be concerned about California that makes up 1/7 to 1/5 of our US GDP depending on how you measure the GDP. Detroit can go to hell in a hand basket and maybe it impacts three other states directly. California has been dragging the US down with it and will destroy us if we don't support the California GOP in pulling it back from the brink. We have been treating CA as the Left Coast, too far away to bother us. Right now, CA license plates are all over NC in advance of the convention. They aren't here to enjoy nature! You cannot run from this because CA politics eventually makes it's way to the most remote corners. We have to make a stand!

"Paul trolls"...hmmm. What is your argument against Paul? I was a committed Santorum supporter, but in lieu of Santorum I would support anyone that was clear in his convictions AND was committed to the Constitution. I struggle with Romney who much of the time looks more like Obamney. Why? I never am sure of where he stands and I certainly am not convinced he sees the Constitution as the same Liberty preserving document that the Founders did. Just based on that, I would be willing to at least listen to what Paul has to say.

I agree with you that voting Democrat will result in us living in the poorest nation on earth. I cannot agree the Democrats are dumb. Firstly, the Democrats as represented now by a mix of Socialists, hard core Communist Party USA members, and left overs from the Summer of 67, want the USA to feel the pinch of retribution and a leveling from perceived Capitalist wrongs. The Democrat solution to the world's ills is to "share" a little of what we have since it was all from ill gotten gain to begin with. Democrats are more than happy to see capital gains reduced along with American labor wages, in order to allow wages and gain to increase around the world at our expense.

"INTELLIGENT PEOPLE do"...hmmm. I agree with your argument right up to where you indulge in an all caps jab. You can almost smell the grass on the recess yard and hear a basketball bouncing on the asphalt court nearby.

I agree with the content of your stated position. However, you are adding unnecessary pokes and prods that detract from your argument, i.e., "genuine conservatism". It doesn't serve you well and irritates people into not listening. It would be refreshing if folks would just make a better argument in general.
Wow! Truncheon, you are using the same non-argument, name calling, insulting method that the Huffpro trolls use to silence us. Could it be that you are the troll you are accusing the rest of us of being? "Shuboi drools", come on. Are you feeling froggy behind a computer screen, or are you this uncivilized in the flesh? Romney has been foisted upon us and few are happy about it. Romney doesn't even appear comfortable with the way things have gone down. It is definitely time to find the redeeming qualities that Romney does possess and support Romney. Namely, at least he is not a Communist.
