John - I do acknowledge the gulf between liberal Democrats and Conservative Republicans. If conservatives behaved according to their principles, and voted that way, and liberals did the same, both of you would likely end up inadvertently supporting the Libertarian party. All I want is for the GOP to act like conservatives and get rid of these bad policies/habits they've developed the last 40 years, keep the good ones. Although the parties both say very different things, they do almost identical things, especially when we're all losing our freedoms. That's when we get to see real bi partisanship, the NDAA and the Patriot Act are good examples of this.What the two parties actually support more than anything else is totalitarianism.
What if the principal parties' candidates for president really agree more than they disagree?

What if they both support the authority of the federal government to spy on Americans without search warrants? What if they both support confining foreigners, uncharged and untried, in Guantanamo Bay? What if they both believe the president can arrest without charge and confine without trial any American he hates or fears?

What if they both believe in secret courts -- kept away from the public and the press -- that can take away the rights of Americans? What if they both think...
