We used to get along by leaving each other alone!!!!! Conservatives can do this by the nature of their philosophy (though arguably not so well on social issues) Democrats by their nature CANNOT leave us alone at all!!!!!! They regulate our colas!!!!!! THAT is why we have a problem here. Let's hope we can figure it out soon.

Not trying to troll you but how can you just brush off social issues so easily when it is very obvious that they really matter in a national campaign. The base of the GOP is pro government involvement in the war on drugs, abortion, gay marriage, immigration (totally alienating the Latino vote), huge spender on the military (the most expensive government program), and the civil rights atrocities performed daily by the NSA and big sister made embarrassingly quasi legal under the patriot act. I hope this was a wake up call to those who are for small government and states rights like I am. You can either look at the changing demographics in this country and jettison the social right or you can prepare to lose every presidential election.

If the GOPers didn't think the social issues didn't matter they would not be fighting against abortion and homosexual marriage.

What you are pointing out (badly) and calling "social sissues" is that fact that Democrats/leftists are criminals (murderers and robbers). There are few ways to defeat a nation of criminals. You chide us for trying political solutions. You appear to be saying that we should accept them as criminals.

I would never be caught saying what you say and I'm a limited (not small) government proponent and a strong proponent of states rights.

No, it's not the social issues as much as it is the difference between those who strongly believe in GOD ALMIGHTY and those who if they believe in anything, it's in name only..who never consider what God expects of a civilized nation, a nation dedicated to Him as we were by our first President. It's a battle between good and evil..and I believe this election proves it.There is a segment in this country who are so selfish they demand the rest of us pay their way, what a joke, they buy into the lies of this tyrant who rants about the rich when he's amassed a small fortune and is buying a huge multi million dollar home while they jealously
and enviously covet the earnings of others like Mitt who EARNED it, rather than amassed it

Bingo. Democrats are robbers. They pretend it is about compassion and charity. It is not. It is about coveting their neighbors money and possessions and voting for people who will take it away and give it to the Democrats.

It's criminality (which is always anti-God).

You know who won the election (or whether we face another Florida 2000), and as I write I don't.

But whether Barack Obama is re-elected to a second term or Mitt Romney is elected the 45th president, the contours of their support during this fiercely fought campaign show that we live in Two Americas.

The culturally cohesive America of the 1950s that some of us remember, usually glossing over racial segregation and the civil rights movement, is no longer with us and hasn't been for some time.

That was an America of universal media, in which everyone watched one of three...
