In response to:

Todd Akin Was Never Accused of Rape -- Unlike Bill Clinton

Very disappointing that the usually brilliant Larry Elder could be so wrong. Akin disqualified himself from elective office with his stupid and insensitive comments. This has nothing to do with Republicans caving to the liberal media. It has to do with Republicans caving to common sense.

Not quite. Repubs had a major knee-jerk reflex in how they dealt with the situation, unfortunately for us because it's ended up dragging this entire situation out in public more than it had to be.

I think this provides a pretty accurate description...

Exactly what is wrong with the term "legitimate rape" as a means of clearly distinguishing an actual rape via either overpowering force or through rendering the victim helpless by administering alcohol or drugs from the feminist "sex-I-regret-was-rape" drivel?

I clearly remember the dorm-room session 30 years ago where I was informed that even if I had said yes at the time it could still be rape because men had power while women were weak and subject to "pressure" -- which was nonsense then and remains nonsense now.

Then why is Joe Biden still employed?

Because he's a safety net for Obama. No one is going to assassinate Obama when Joe Biden is the one who would take his place as President.

Right - Biden being mentally ill is okay, but one misquote by Akin and the media are all over him. Sounds kind of familiar. . .
Which is worse, Rep. Todd Akin's, R-Mo., ignorance about human anatomy -- or the way Republicans jump, run and hide when the Democrat-media complex decides they should?

Akin is the Republican candidate for a crucial Senate seat in Missouri. In an interview, he said that he believed that pregnancy following an act of rape is "really rare -- if it's a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut the whole thing down."

Incredibly dumb. The married father of six, including two daughters, apologized the next day and then recorded an ad apologizing yet...
