Underscoring, yet again, Obama’s deep-seated contempt for everything this nation has stood for. Obama’s sincerely held view is that America is a failed experiment that needs to be scuttled ASAP. As the children of that experiment, who can see that his claims are as wrong as wrong can be, how are we to be inspired by somebody who insists that up is down and black is white, when we know the opposite is true?

This country can't keep turning a blind eye to outsourcing and continued discrimination against people of color and varying cultures that have diminished the standard of living.. There is a legacy of slavery and the suffocating restrictions on freedom afterwards that the world thought this nation stood for. We have to fix the problems plaguing the middle class before we can progress to a better future.

Lady, outsourcing is largely caused by taxation -- and if you thought it was bad before, wait until you see what is coming. You don't know what suffocating restrictions are, but you will soon find out.

I will agree with you that, as you call them, "people of color" have been discriminated against in the past; but this president who of all people I thought would bring the people together has proved to be one of the most divisive in a long time. Wake up!!!

It was wholly a pleasure to hear from you about our president's Second Inaugural address, which you found uplifting, eloquent, enthralling ... while I felt safe in asserting that, well, it wasn't Lincoln's. Surely that fact is beyond dispute.

I do thank you for writing; I learn most from my critics. Sometimes, like you, they pose a good question, as you did.

You noted that I quoted from the great inaugural addresses of the past -- Jefferson's and Lincoln's and FDR's -- in contrast to Barack Obama's. But what about more contemporary presidents, you asked. Can I think of...
