Obama vs Rush: Round 2

There is an old piece of wisdom that advises politicians to not pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel. A corollary would be to similarly avoid conflict with someone who is heard on over 600 radio stations. If Obama wants to draw more attention to the man who is almost alone right now – among media personalities – in giving an unvarnished appraisal of his tyrannical inclinations, then he will regret it. I have no doubt Rush welcomes the battle, and will be glad to have an even bigger audience listening to him expose our wannabe tinhorn dictator for whom he is.

President Barack Obama is naming names in his second term when it comes to his un-preferred media, something he generally farmed out to White House staff and political surrogates during the first term.

The president, in a recent interview with The New Republic, found scapegoats for Washington gridlock.

“One of the biggest factors is going to be how the media shapes debates,” Obama told TNR. “If a Republican member of Congress is not punished on Fox News or by Rush Limbaugh for working with a Democrat on a bill of common interest, then you’ll see more of them doing it.”
