Even if the liberal progressives like Schumer don't want to secure the borders to keep the millions of Mexicans, Guatemalans, Columbians, etc., from walking into the US, what about the people who have malicious criminal intent? The known terrorists, drug smugglers, human traffickers,and foreign spies who enter the US through our porous borders with an intent to do harm. Why aren't people like Schumer doing something effective to stop those people from entering the country?

The bipartisan immigration reform plan introduced by eight senators earlier this week included two major things: The first being border security and enforcement of the law. The second, giving 11 million illegal immigrants a new path to citizenship. In order to prevent another 1986, when Ronald Reagan traded amnesty for a false promise of border security, and in order to move forward in a bipartisan fashion, the enforcement part of the plan must take place.
