Iowa Senate Candidate: Democrats Haven’t Passed a Budget in Four Years Because of Filibustering Republicans, or Something

Some of us complain about 'low information' voters but most of us believe that our representatives are not only smarter than the average citizen but better educated and better informed. 60% of the Senate are lawyers and almost 40% of the House are lawyers. Unfortunately, a few like this Mr Braley sweet talk their way into Congress. Hopefully this public exposure of his ignorance will end his political ambitions. The nation really deserves better.

Given who those people elect these representative may actually be smarter. Although it really isn't a very high bar. How frightening to think that Maxine Waters IS the smartest one in her district.

Actually you are just pointing out that you don't have to be very smart to be a lawyer.

Braley is a Democrat, an attorney, and a sitting representative in the US House. He is scarey.

Guy touched on this subject earlier today, but I nevertheless wanted to remind readers that this clip is another pitch-perfect example of a misinformed Democrat -- in this case, Iowa Senate hopeful Bruce Braley -- spending too much time digesting the Senate Majority Leader’s false talking points and not enough time doing his own homework (via Michael Warren and Ed Morrissey):
