Personally I think it was a brilliant maneuver by the GOP. They put Obama in a position for 2012 where he has to campaign on his raising taxes, in which case he'll lose like what happened in '84, or he'll have to promise to keep tax rates the same, in which case he'll lose the left. How many of these countries have been called on for the last 60 years to defend the freedom of the world?
