As the editor of a missions magazine I am continually critiquing evangelical mission efforts around the world so Ann, you pose some fair questions about the use of scarce resources. The problem is that not going is not an option for an obedient Jesus follower. We are ALL commanded to go and make disciples of all nations (people groups). But many of those people groups are here in the US as well. There are not too many people going as missionaries, only 1 in 1000 evangelicals go as missionaries. The most fundamental problem in America is that the Christians have failed to make disciples who disciple others. They think their only responsibility is to go to church services when they have been called to be on mission with God to be agents of change in America and around the world. If the majority of evangelicals in America were actually living on mission with God to make disciples of Jesus Christ then we could transform both America and the world.
